Favorite Star Wars Score
What's your favorite score to a Star Wars movie?
My favorite is The Empire Strikes Back for numerous reasons. Yes, "Han Solo and the Princess" and "The Imperial March" are a bit overused (and fantastic), but "The Asteroid Field", "Yoda and the Force", the battle of Hoth and the entire Cloud City sequence are great. "Han Solo and the Princess" is a much better love theme than the one from Attack Of The Clones; that's not a bad piece of music, it just sounds very "Lawrence Of Arabia".
I do think the tempo of the "End Credits" is too fast; I wonder if that was John Williams' choice or if it was sped up to fit the speed of the credits.

Am I the only one who thinks that the best Star Wars score is Binary Sunset: that poignant moment where Luke stares out over the desert, feeling trapped in a dead-end life - and the little lift in the at the end with the Luke theme foreshaddowing the fact that it is actually the last moment of reflection of his old life before he sets out on his adventures?

I only have the soundtracks for ANH and ESB. Both are really good, but they're good in different ways. ANH makes me want to jump around the room waving my plastic lightsaber over my head. ESB is for curling up in bed and writing or reading. Favourite ANH tracks - "Cantina Band #2" and "Battle of Yavin". Favourite ESB tracks - "Yoda's Theme" and "Lando's Palace".
I've always loved the first "Star Wars" score, it fills you with so much adrenaline. Of course, the score for "The Empire Strikes Back" is good too.
"The Phantom Menace" is my favorite SW score! I simply love Duel of the Fates and Escape from Naboo! Plus, everything else is so nicely put together. There are numerous little portions here and there. The greatest SW score from the beginning till the very end!
Once more: I WANT THE PREQUEL TRILOGY COMPLETE SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Phantom Menace Is the best full soundtrack. full soundtracks of Episodes 2 and 3 will be worth listening to as they contain a fair portion of pieces from Phantom. Jar Jars theme is playful. anakins theme is lovely. duel of the fates is heartpounding. Both Jedi and Sith Themes are well linked in at the right moments. the flag parade is amazing. I could keep going on and on but as in the preview for the phantom menace " every saga has it's beginning".
I liked :The Battle Of Heroes" on the Star Wars Episode III Score, its really good and John Williams did an excellent job I must say, and it fitted so well. Another one is "The Duel Of Fates" on the Star Wars Episode I Score. I love it when the vocals come in, really good, well done John Williams!

"Much to learn you still have...."
Sad to say - I love the score for The Empire Strikes Back as it is a moving perfect score that fits an almost near perfect film...
The original Star Wars score has always and will always be my favourite score... It's daring, it's bold, it introduces themes that influenced a generation and Sony/BMG keep getting my money as I always manage to wear down the SW 2CD score once a year....
Indeed - without the perfections of JW's touch - the Star Wars movies would be panto-like science/fantasy films.

The Dark Side of the Fuzz!!!
The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite as well. It is so well balanced. The themes are so full of emotion that without the soundtrack, I think the movie wouldn't be half as good.
